Digital Skills and Scaleups: EU and Member State Initiatives
This report examines Europe's twin digital priorities: digital skills development and scaleup support. It identifies progress and gaps at EU and Member State levels.
While digital literacy and ICT professional development remain essential for growth, scaleups continue facing funding, cross-border, and regulatory challenges. Based on 120 initiatives reviewed, targeted policy action is needed to strengthen Europe's global technology position.
Annual Report 2024
At the end of 2024, EIT Digital reaffirmed its role as the EU’s leading platform for digital innovation and education. With a presence in 15 countries and new offices in Athens and Bolzano, the organization expanded its regional footprint and secured €114 million in funding through 20 successful project proposals. Our Master School grew to 24 universities, and our education programmes saw record participation. We launched several strategic initiatives in collaborations with the EU and national agencies and began preparations for the 2025 rebranding. While transiting to our new strategic agenda for 2026–2030, EIT Digital remains committed to fostering a sustainable, EU-wide digital domain innovation ecosystem.
